Former F1 chairman Bernie Ecclestone remains optimistic about Lewis Hamilton’s comeback.

Despite recent public spats, Ecclestone’s wish is clear: he sees Hamilton, with his seven championships, recovering the crown from the formidable Max Verstappen.

As their rivalry heats up, Hamilton’s winless drought over the last two seasons has become a talking point, paving the way for a potential comeback with an enhanced Mercedes in the next 2024 season.

Ecclestone: He was going to make history.

Ecclestone, now 93, not only wishes to see Hamilton win more races in his brilliant career, but also wishes for the Briton to win the elusive eighth title before the end of his illustrious career.

“I hope he makes it,” Ecclestone said to the German Press Agency, according to Sky Sports. “He would then make history.”

Despite the odd public spat between the two, Ecclestone continues to support Lewis Hamilton’s pursuit for further titles.

In a significant exchange in 2022, Hamilton criticized Ecclestone and other “old voices” in the F1 community for defending Nelson Piquet’s hostile comments directed at him.
