Bruno Guimaraes would like to rejoin with his former Lyon teammate at Newcastle United.
Bruno Guimaraes has identified the Brazilian player he wants Newcastle United to sign.
The Brazilian and teammate Joelinton have been discussing on the That’s Football YouTube channel. The pair discussed a variety of topics, including their time at the club and manager Eddie Howe.
Towards the end of their talk, they were invited to choose a Brazilian player with whom they would like to play at St James’ Park. Guimaraes chose someone who is flying in the Premier League despite having a lot of options considering Brazil’s talent.
He told That’s Football: “For me, it’s Lucas Paqueta. We’re best friends, and I like him, so I’d choose him. But it’s a difficult question, so stop that!”
Joelinton agreed with Guimaraes’ decision, but also chose Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr. “Yes, I’d suggest Paqueta or Vinicius Junior. “He’s a nice guy as well,” he continued.
Guimaraes played two seasons with Paqueta at Lyon between 2020 and 2022 before moving to Tyneside. Newcastle were heavily connected with Paqueta during the summer of 2022.
Despite ties to Arsenal, the 26-year-old eventually completed his £51 million move to the London Stadium. He has subsequently played 68 games for the Hammers, helping them win the Europa Conference League last season.
