According to the latest transfer rumors, Sunderland is interested in signing players from Southampton and Notts County.
Sunderland has been linked with two new signings during the January transfer window.
The window for clubs to move players over the winter is currently 17 days old, and Sunderland has yet to complete an incoming or leaving deal despite several speculations.
Earlier this week, the Black Cats were connected with two new players as transfer chiefs Kristjaan Speakman and Stuart Harvey sought to match Michael Beale’s requirements. Sunderland’s head coach is looking for another striker, and his name has been suggested alongside Notts County forward Macaulay Langstaff, who has also been linked with Birmingham City and Derby County.
The prolific goalscorer joined Notts County from North East club Gateshead and helped the club win promotion from the National League last season, hitting 42 goals in 47 games. The 26-year-old has now scored 20 more goals this season.
According to reports, Peterborough United are interested in signing the 26-year-old to assist them push for promotion from League One. Birmingham City, Sunderland, and Derby County, as well as Wrexham and Hearts, have all expressed interest.
According to Sunderland Nation, Sunderland are also interested in signing Leicester City defender Luke Thomas to help improve their left-back position. The Black Cats have suffered defensive injuries, with Niall Huggins and Dennis Cirkin expected to miss extended amounts of time due to injury.
The 22-year-old has over 50 Premier League appearances for Leicester, starting the 2021 FA Cup final, and competed in the Europa League previously. It is speculated that Thomas may be available on loan.
