The Kansas City Chiefs were underdogs going into the AFC Divisional round against the Buffalo Bills. There were questions about quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ ability to produce in his first career road playoff game.

Bills Pro Bowl tackle Dion Dawkins told reporters on January 18 that Mahomes couldn’t handle the Bills Mafia crowd at Highmark Stadium. “The environment will be different, and not to say it’s in our favor, but the stadium is our favor,” he remarked. “That’s cool. So, good luck.

The last two words became bulletin board material for Mahomes. After defeating the Bills 27-24, Mahomes tweeted a shot from the game on Instagram with the caption, “Good luck.”

The quarterback’s wife, Brittany Mahomes, commented, “MY BOYYYYYYYY🔥.” On Instagram Stories, she reposted her husband’s post and commented, “We love the caption.”

Brittany maintained the great sentiments on social media. She posted a photo with Travis Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, Jason Kelce’s wife, Kylie Kelce, Blake Bell’s wife, Lyndsay Bell, model Cara Delevingne, and a group of pals. The KC Current co-owner writes, “I went there, did that, and moved on to the next.”

What happens next? On Sunday, January 28, the Chiefs will travel to M&T Bank Stadium to face the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship. Kansas City starts the game as a 3.5-point underdog.

The Chiefs-Ravens matchup promises to be another nail-biting game. Lamar Jackson and the Ravens defeated the Houston Texans 34-10 in the Divisional round.

Brittany Celebrated Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes & TE Travis Kelce Making NFL History

On Monday, January 22, Brittany uploaded a post from the NFL’s Instagram page commemorating her husband and Kelce’s tremendous achievement. While the All-Pro tight end hadn’t scored a touchdown in seven games, the Mahomes-Kelce connection came to life against the Bills. In the second quarter, Kelce caught a 22-yard touchdown.

With a three-point lead in the third quarter, Mahomes hit Kelce in the end zone again with a short 3-yard touchdown pass. With that score, Mahomes and Kelce now have the most postseason touchdowns (16) of any quarterback-receiver combination. They surpassed famed quarterback Tom Brady and tight end Rob Gronkowski to claim the top prize.

Kelce was visibly ecstatic after both touchdowns. According to NFL.com, his seven-game streak without a touchdown was the second-longest of his career.

Brady praised Mahomes and Kelce. The future Hall of Fame quarterback wrote on X, now known as Twitter, “BEASTS.” When you one-up gronk, you’re doing something right.

Patrick Mahomes Is Amped to Take on the Baltimore Ravens

After upsetting Buffalo, Mahomes is even more motivated to win another road game against a talented team. Mahomes stated in his postgame victory address, “They asked for it! They got exactly what they asked for!” But, most importantly, “We come back next week ready to f****** go!”

In front of a hostile audience at Highmark Stadium, Mahomes completed 73.9% of his throws for 215 yards and two scores. “I knew the fans were going to be rowdy, I think guys took it as a challenge,” Mahomes told reporters after the game. “I enjoy being at Arrowhead and performing in front of that crowd. But when you’re on the road, it’s you against them. It’s you against everyone in the stadium. You need to come together as a team.”

The 28-year-old is excited to play in his sixth straight AFC Championship game, but he understands overcoming the Ravens will be difficult. “No weakness there,” Mahomes said. “We’re going to make our best effort. That stadium is going to be rocking, and we are ready for the task.”

Defeating the Bills at home has boosted Mahomes’ confidence. “We were here to prove a point and show that we can play anywhere.”
