Ipswich Town are now punching above their weight, and a big reason for that is youthful head coach Kieran McKenna, who has done an excellent job since taking over at Portman Road.

McKenna has been with the Tractor Boys for over two years and has successfully guided the team back to the Championship following years of stagnation in League One. Now, he is leading East Anglia to a remarkable comeback to the top flight.

A stunning late goal from Leif Davis against Bristol City on Tuesday secured Ipswich all three points, leaving them three points behind league leaders Leicester City and in the automatic promotion spots with only ten games remaining in the regular season.

Furthermore, according to Opta’s most recent estimates, Ipswich Town currently has a 100% chance of making the playoffs, which demonstrates how good McKenna’s team has been this season.

VfB Stuttgart | Sebastian Hoeneß übernimmt als Cheftrainer

However, the manager’s success has sparked interest from larger clubs. According to BILD in Germany, Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart has identified the Northern Irishman as a possible replacement for head coach Sebastian Hoeness.

Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel has declared that he will stand down at the end of the season, as the German giants look set to lose the league crown for the first time in twelve years. Hoeness is being touted as a potential successor to the former Chelsea manager, despite the fact that he only signed a new five-year contract with the club today.

Stuttgart has enjoyed a fantastic season under Hoeness and is currently in third place in the Bundesliga, four points behind Bayern Munich. If the head coach goes, McKenna might end up working for a Champions League team.
