Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly interested in signing Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimarães during the summer transfer window to strengthen their midfield for next season.
According to a recent report, PSG’s ambitions to sign the player may face a snag. Manchester City are also considering the Brazilian star as their top midfield option. Nonetheless, they consider options such as Joshua Kimmich from Bayern Munich and Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa.
Manchester City’s strong interest may prompt the Parisians to aggressively pursue the Newcastle star. However, Graeme Bailey says that the Ligue 1 club is considering a double move.
According to Bailey, PSG officials saw Bruno Guimarães play against Manchester City last Saturday. Paris is keeping an eye on the Brazilian, who is growing upset with Newcastle’s season. Furthermore, PSG maintained a close eye on Alexander Isak.

Guimarães is expected to be in great demand, and his release clause of €117 million is acceptable. Manchester City intends to pay it off in three installments of slightly more than €39 million each, although they face stiff competition.
