Charlie Taylor, a Clarets defender, says Aro Muric seized his opportunity after being selected ahead of James Trafford in the Brentford win.
The 25-year-old Kosovan finally got his chance between the sticks as Vincent Kompany demoted James Trafford to the bench for the first time this season in the league.

“Aro was brilliant,” Taylor explained. “He made some key saves for us and kept us in the game. Traffs is young and has done well this season, but Aro has had to wait his turn, but he has made use of his opportunity. He was brilliant. Everyone is happy for him.

“He’s got to remain patient. Everyone knows what a great keeper he is. He’s a top-tier goalkeeper, as seen by his performance last year and in training every day. We’re fortunate in that department to have two good keepers. Three with Lawrence [Vigouroux]. He had to wait for his chance, but when it came, he took full advantage of it.”

Burnley will play four of its last nine games at home, with Wolves, Brighton, Newcastle, and Nottingham Forest the only clubs yet to visit Turf Moor. Taylor emphasized the importance of supporters staying with them while they attempt the greatest of escapes.

“They are big. When people support us like that [against Brentford], it makes a huge difference. It gives us a huge boost. We have a lot of huge games left, nine in total, many of them are at home. We obviously need more wins.”

Taylor’s contract expires at the end of the season. When asked if he had thought about it much, he said, “No, not from my end. I didn’t play in the start of the season, so I’m simply glad to be playing every week now.

“I’m not really thinking about anything beyond the summer; I’m just happy to be playing every week.” I’m enjoying my football and trying to do my best for this club, getting us as far up the table and out of difficulty as I can.”
