According to Corriere dello Sport, Manchester United are the odds-on favourites to sign Juventus star Gleison Bremer over Newcastle United.
The Red Devils intend to buy a marquee centre-back during the summer transfer window, with Italian sources indicating that Bremer is the top target.
Bremer signed a new long-term contract with the Bianconeri in December of last year, but the pact had a’soft release clause’ worth €61 million.
According to Corriere dello Sport (page 2), Bremer appears to be on track to join the Premier League. United have a better chance of signing him than the Magpies do.
The Bianconeri will collect €55 million from his probable transfer. If United or any other team signs him, his old club Torino will receive 10% of the price.

The Brazilian has been one of the standout defenders in the Italian top division, and it looks United is making progress in signing him this summer.
Due to the release clause, the Red Devils would not have to negotiate with the Bianconeri, and a trade could be quite simple if personal terms are agreed upon.
