Four players from yesterday’s epic 4-3 victory against West Ham are expected to miss Tuesday night’s game against Everton.
According to The Mail’s Craig Hope, Jamaal Lascelles (knee), Tino Livramento (ankle), and Miguel Almiron (knee) are all expected to miss the midweek game at St James’ Park, while Anthony Gordon faces a one-game ban after collecting a second card in stoppage time.
According to The Athletic’s Chris Waugh, the injured trio are also considered’significant concerns’ for Saturday’s trip to Fulham.
Lascelles attempted to continue after an awkward collision with Michail Antonio, but was promptly hauled up; Livramento’s ankle was twisted, and Miggy twisted his knee while attempting to deliver a cross shortly after being substituted. With a trip to Fulham to follow on Saturday.
EzoicAfter the game, Howe addressed all three issues, saying, “Jamaal has a knee problem, but I don’t know anything else. Tino, I assume the ball hit his ankle, resulting in an ankle twist. Miggy twisted his knee while crossing the ball, but I don’t know any information.
“This has been the tale of our season. Unfortunately, we were being hit left, right, and center today. We were 1-0 up when Jamaal went off. Miggy goes off, Anthony is sent off, and Tino (Livramento) goes off.
“It is a catalogue, one after another, but the players we brought on made a positive impact, and that’s the beauty of our squad.”
❌ Sounds like Newcastle will be doing well to have any of Lascelles (knee), Almiron (knee) & Livramento (ankle) for Tuesday versus Everton. Gordon (one match) also suspended following red card
⚽️ Still, a lot of feel-good & momentum will wash over from today, you suspect…
