Ricky-Jade Jones, a Peterborough wonderkid, has long been a target for top English clubs, with Newcastle expressing strong interest in the 21-year-old.
Newcastle are reportedly leading the fight to sign Peterborough winger Ricky-Jade Jones.

The quick 21-year-old has had a successful season with the Posh, scoring 11 goals and providing five assists in 2023/24.

The Peterborough academy graduate won his first piece of trophy in his career in the EFL Trophy final, defeating Wycombe Wanderers 2-1 at Wembley Stadium on Sunday (April 7).

He’s made over 100 games for the club since making his first-team debut at the age of 16, and has undoubtedly left an impression on some of England’s biggest clubs, with his frightening pace being the most dangerous aspect of his game.

Jones runs the 100 metres in 10.9 seconds, putting him among the fastest footballers in the game. In fact, it’s just over a second slower than Usain Bolt’s world record for the distance, set at 9.58 seconds in the 2009 World Athletics Championship.

The pursuit of Jones from Newcastle could be attributed to the stringent enforcement of the new financial laws, with violations leading in severe fines, as evidenced by the point deductions handed out to Everton and Nottingham Forest this season.
