Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has lauded NUFC Women’s head coach Becky Langley for her “incredibly difficult” achievements while at the club.
Langley hopes to secure back-to-back promotions for the Lasses on Sunday when they face Huddersfield Town Women at Kingston Park.
NUFC Women are on the verge of winning the Women’s Championship for the first time in their history, a league with a number of exciting games.
Sunderland and Durham play in the Championship. The Black Cats are now at the top of the standings, while Durham are ninth, barely four points outside the relegation zone.
Howe and Langley are in regular communication
Howe described his contact with Langley as follows: “We have regular communication. I respect and admire her and the work she has done.
“Back-to-back promotions are extremely tough for anyone to achieve. I enjoy the way she conducts herself and speaks; she is highly knowledgable about the game.
“We want to strengthen that relationship, and best of luck to her and the girls in the next game.”
“It’s great for everyone involved with the club. For young girls who want to be footballers in the future, the more high-profile the game becomes, the more opportunities they will have to play and learn.”
Newcastle stakeholders are improving facilities for the Lasses
Regarding team improvements, Howe stated, “Throughout the club, we’re trying to improve the facilities for everyone, and I believe that’s the next step for the club.”
“Hopefully we can improve the environment for them and the club can continue to grow in that way.”
