Auburn should have multiple alternatives when the transfer portal opens.
The Auburn Tigers will have an opportunity to enhance their roster now that Transfer Portal season has begun.
Following Auburn’s annual A-Day game, head coach Hugh Freeze stated that the Tigers would be seeking for players to help improve his wide receiver and defensive line rooms.
According to Hayes Fawcett of On3, Louisville defensive lineman Jermayne Lole intends to use the transfer portal. Lole is listed at six-foot-three and 310 pounds. He appeared in 39 games during his four years of college football.
He played his first three seasons of college with the Arizona State Sun Devils before joining the Louisville Cardinals last season.
Auburn needs defensive line depth. In December, Auburn signed defensive linemen Trill Carter from Texas and Gage Keys from Kansas. Trill appears to be the backup nose guard for Jayson Jones. Keys started at defensive tackle and shared reps with rookie Malik Blocton at times during A-Day.
Auburn’s defensive line is talented, but there are a lot of young players on the team right now. Auburn’s 2024 class included several standout players who could see playing time as true freshman this season. Blocton, TJ Lindsey, Amari Williams, Jamonta Waller, and Joe Phillips.
Junior Bobby Jamison-Travis is the only non-freshman on the interior defensive line after Keys, Carter, Jones, and Zykevious Walker, all seniors. The remaining interior linemen are freshmen. Darron Reed is a redshirt freshmen this season.
The transfer portal will open on Tuesday.
