The Green Bay Packers began a new era last season, with Jordan Love taking over as starter after Aaron Rodgers left for the New York Jets. The start of the season wasn’t ideal, but Love eventually found his groove and led the Packers to the playoffs. They defeated the Dallas Cowboys on the road in the playoffs before losing a heartbreaker to the San Francisco 49ers.
Jordan Love ended up having a tremendous year, and many believe he will be the next great Packers quarterback. First Brett Favre, then Aaron Rodgers, and now it may be Love.
Davante Adams was one of the Packers’ top players before moving to the Las Vegas Raiders after Rodgers left. He doesn’t regret his decision, but he does see that Love has something special going for him in Green Bay.
“When I was there [in Green Bay], I hadn’t seen enough [of Love] to say for sure, ‘This is what I should do [stay with the Packers],'” Davante Adams stated during an appearance on The Rush Podcast. “In retrospect, like we said, the kid [Love] is a f—ing baller, man. I’m quite delighted for him. I haven’t had the opportunity to genuinely sit down and talk with him, but I want to tell him at some point, ‘I absolutely don’t regret leaving [teams], but I’m extremely happy of what you’ve accomplished. Davante Adams thinks that Jordan Love can be the next great Packers QB
Jordan Love concluded last season with 372-579 for 4,159 yards and 11 interceptions. However, in his final ten games, he threw 23 touchdown passes and only three interceptions. Davante Adams believes Love demonstrated that he has what it takes to be the next Packers great.
“I think he is,” Adams remarked. “I believe he has proved that. He is starting to come into his own. You can observe how he speaks in front of the media and everything. It’s like a completely different person than I saw when I was there. “That comes with experience.”
Adams had a lot of positive things to say about Love, and it appears like he wished he had played with him a little more.
There is a lot of pressure on Love to live up to the hype, and he delivered throughout his debut season as starter. Expectations for the second year are much higher. Let’s see if he can match them again.
