Tua Tagovailoa is set to receive one of his most desired items.
He will begin his fifth season in the National Football League as a quarterback for the Miami Dolphins in the autumn.
Mike McDaniel, the Dolphins’ head coach, witnessed his quarterback have a career year in 2023.
Tagovailoa topped the league with 4,624 passing yards and tied for seventh with 29 touchdown passes. He finished in the top five to ten among quarterbacks in all major categories, earning his first career Pro Bowl appearance. Tagovailoa has picked up his rookie contract’s fifth-year option, but are he and the Dolphins on the verge of signing a huge deal extension? According to ML Football, long-term contract negotiations have begun between Tagovailoa and Miami. ESPN first reported the news, and according to Spotrac, Tagovailoa is expected to sign a four-year extension worth $220 million.

Since 2021, Tagovailoa has improved year after year as a starting quarterback. He showed last season that he could avoid head/neck ailments by playing in a career-high 17 games. Tagovailoa achieved a passer rating of at least 100 for the second consecutive year in 2023.
He hopes to lead the team to the Super Bowl at some point, but it appears that Miami wants to commit to him long term.
