Taylor is the first 2025 linebacker to pledge to Michigan.

Brian Jean-Mary’s first commitment as the Michigan Wolverines’ linebackers coach came on Monday afternoon, when 2025 three-star linebacker Chase Taylor confirmed his decision.
The Stockbridge, Georgia native is 6-foot-3 and weighs 200 pounds. He was offered in the fall by Michigan’s previous regime, but he was also extensively recruited by Jean-Mary and the new defensive coaching staff. He visited Michigan over the weekend and made his decision shortly after.

2025 Georgia Tech Linebacker Target Chase Taylor Makes College Decision

Taylor is not the most highly heralded prospect, but he has the potential to add much-needed depth to Michigan’s linebacking core. Cole Sullivan is the only freshman linebacker, after Jeremiah Beasley went to Missouri shortly after spring ball. Aside from Ernest Hausmann and Jaishawn Barham, there aren’t many possibilities at the position right now, so reinforcements are surely needed.

Aside from Michigan, Taylor had offers from USC, South Carolina, Florida State, Clemson, Duke, LSU, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia Tech, and others.

Taylor is the sixth defensive player to pledge to Michigan in the 2025 class, following four-star defensive back Kainoa Winston and three four-star defensive linemen in Nate Marshall, Jaylen Williams, and Bobby Kanka.

Taylor is ranked No. 582 overall on the 247Sports composite, No. 61 linebacker, and No. 64 Georgia player. The video below features highlights from Taylor’s junior year.
