On Tuesday, one of Wisconsin’s defensive lineman committed elsewhere.
Drayden Pavey, a 2025 three-star defensive lineman, revealed his commitment to Purdue on Tuesday, which was bad news for Wisconsin.
Pavey, an Ohio native, had a final three of Wisconsin, Purdue, and Indiana, where he eventually took official visits before deciding on the Boilermakers.
Pavey, a 6’3, 305-pound lineman, would have been a nice addition to the interior and had been a late target for the Badgers, who offered him in April before immediately scheduling an official visit.
Pavey grabbed the attention of defensive line coach E.J. Whitlow, but it wasn’t enough to convince the Ohio native to commit.
The Badgers currently have two defensive lineman in the 2025 class: Torin Pettaway and Wilnerson Telemaque.
While they’ve looked into adding a third player to the group, it doesn’t appear that will happen with their official guest board.
Wisconsin has 22 commitments for their 2025 class.
