Jacobe Ward is Auburn’s fifth offensive line commit for the 2025 class.
Auburn led Jacobe Ward in the spring. Auburn was Ward’s leader for the summer. Ward, a 3-star interior offensive lineman, has committed to Auburn over Tennessee and LSU.

Ward, who stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 335 pounds, is ranked No. 682 in the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, No. 44 as an interior offensive lineman, and No. 75 from Georgia. 247Sports ranks the Benedictine Military School (Ga.) native as the No. 81 interior offensive lineman and the No. 110 player from Georgia.

Despite his ranking, Auburn saw Ward as an immediate impact guard who offensive line coach Jake Thornton worked hard to recruit.

“It was mostly the environment at Auburn,” Ward told Auburn Undercover. “Just the coaches, too. I have a fantastic rapport with all of the coaches, particularly Coach Thornton. He simply accomplishes things that other coaches have not done. Coach Freeze and I also have a fantastic relationship. He also sat down and told me that I had a significant impact on the squad. He just sat down and played the father figure role, you know? He’ll always be available if you need to chat to him. He’ll always be by your side when you need him.

Thornton made it clear to Ward early in the recruiting process that if he joined Auburn’s 2025 class, he could be a Day 1 starter. This was significant to Ward.
“That was the biggest part of my recruitment,” Ward told me. “Just trying to find a place where I can fit in. Coach Thornton broke it down for me in every way that I fit in with the team.”

Ward first visited Auburn in March and stated that the Tigers were his leader at the time. He went on to visit South Carolina, LSU, and Tennessee after that, but when he returned in June, he labeled the Tigers his new leader.
Following that formal visit to Auburn, he made more official trips to Tennessee and LSU, but from the moment he arrived at Auburn in March, he knew he was headed to the Plains.

“Honestly I knew the first time I stepped foot in Auburn,” says Ward. “It simply felt like home. I didn’t want to miss any of my other formal visits since I wanted to have the full experience. But, as soon as I walked into Auburn  it felt like home.”

Ward becomes Auburn’s 16th commitment for the 2025 class, joining Tavaris Dice, Broderick Shull, Tai Buster, and Spencer Dowland as the fifth offensive line commit. The class is ranked 11th in the 247Sports team recruiting rankings.

Now that he’s officially in the class, Auburn’s newest member is focusing on recruiting his teammate and a target who slipped through Auburn’s grasp: Miami edge commit Herbert “Third” Scroggins.

“I’m most definitely recruiting some guys,” says Ward. “I am still working to get Third back with us. I’m still trying to get Third back; he’s my primary objective because he’s my dog. “I’m definitely trying to get him back.”
