With their newest recruit, the Badgers expand their international presence.
Greg Gard and the Badgers have secured another 2025 commitment from Hayden Jones of New Zealand.
The 6’5″ guard plays for the Nelson Giants in the New Zealand Basketball League. This season, he averaged 2.9 points per game in 12 minutes of play.
The Badgers have made it a priority to recruit overseas, having already signed Serbian Andrija Vukovic to their 2024 class. Kirk Penney, the former Badger and current assistant, is a New Zealand native who appeared to be the driving force behind Jones’ recruitment.
Jones is now the third member of the 2025 class, behind Zach Kinziger and Will Garlock. The Badgers are also hosting a significant recruiting weekend in September, where numerous top 100 prospects will be present as the team seeks to finalize their 2025 group.
