Defensive line coach Deke Adams and the Razorbacks gained a vital member to the 2025 class on Saturday.
Arkansas’ commitment train continued on Saturday with a major verbal pledge from Madison (Miss.) Hartfield Academy defensive lineman Reginald Vaughn, who chose the Razorbacks over LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and others.
Vaughn, 6-2, 257 pounds, is a Composite four-star who is ranked 36th nationally among all defensive line recruits in the Class of 2025 by 247Sports. Defensive line coach Deke Adams recruited him to Arkansas, where he joins four other defensive lineman who have committed this year.
In addition to his finalists, Vaughn had offers from Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas, Penn State, Georgia Tech, Indiana, and other schools. He has only made one formal visit so far, to Arkansas on the weekend of June 21.
“This one sets the bar pretty high,” Vaughn said after the visit. “Coach Adams and (Sam) Pittman, I feel like they’re family. They’re always loving on me, so I have to love them back because there’s so much love in Arkansas.
“It benefited Arkansas in the long run. I simply felt like it wasn’t a script, that the coaches were just being themselves, which is exactly what I want. I want them to be themselves. You don’t need to change for me. “Just be yourself.”
Vaughn is Arkansas’ third pledge of the week, following Houston (Texas) North Shore cornerback Nigel Pringle on Monday and Shreveport (La.) Captain Shreve offensive lineman Lionel Prudhomme on Friday. With the signing of Vaughn, the Razorbacks’ 2025 class rises from 29th to 26th nationally, passing South Carolina for 11th in the Southeastern Conference.
Arkansas has 18 other commitments in the 2025 class, three-star quarterback Grayson Wilson of Conway (Ark.), three-star athlete Quentin Murphy of Little Rock (Ark.) Parkview, three-star running back Markeylin Batton of Atlanta (Texas), three-star wide receiver Antonio Jordan, three-star wide receiver Kamare Williams of West Palm Beach (Fla.) Captain Shreve, three-star offensive lineman Connor Howes of St. Could (Fla.), three-star offensive lineman Kash Courtney of Carthage (Texas), and three-star offensive lineman Blake Cherry of Owasso (Okla.).
The Razorbacks also have defensive commitments from four-star linebacker Tavion Wallace of Jesup (Ga.) Wayne County, three-star linebacker Jayden Shelton of Dallas (Texas) South Oak Cliff, three-star defensive end Keiundre Johnson of Terrell (Texas), three-star defensive tackle JaQuentin Madison of Alpharetta (Ga.), three-star defensive end Trent Sellers of Mobile (Ala.) He later announced he would enter the transfer portal. Quincy Rhodes Jr. is now a sophomore after playing in nine games as a true freshman last season. The Hogs have two defensive end commitments in the class in Charleston Collins and Kavion Henderson, both of whom enrolled for the spring semester. Arkansas added a solid transfer in Anton Juncaj out of Albany.
