Georgia received a huge commitment in the 2026 class, flipping a top target from the Trojans.
Georgia’s acquisition of elite defensive backs appears to be ongoing. That already applies to the 2026 recruiting class.

Dominick Kelly, a 4-star IMG Academy (Fla.) recruit, changed his pledge from Southern Cal to Georgia on Monday afternoon, sending recruiting shockwaves through the 2026 cycle. Kelly had committed to the Trojans since March, but his long-standing relationship with Donte Williams had Georgia chipping away at USC’s lead for several months now.

That culminated over the weekend, when Kelly informed USC coaches that he would be decommitting and moving his commitment to Georgia.

Kelly switched from USC to Georgia, Dawgs247 confirmed.

Kelly’s dedication builds on the success of Georgia defensive backs coaches Donte Williams and Travaris Robinson this summer. Since the beginning of June, the new defensive back coaching combination has signed Todd Robinson, Shamari Earls, Jaylan Morgan, Rashad Johnson, Jontavius Wyman, and now Kelly, all 4-star prospects, confirming Kirby Smart’s decision to bring that fervent recruiting duo together.

Kelly’s decision to attend Georgia makes him the Bulldogs’ second 2026 defensive back recruit in the last week, following Jontavius Wyman’s commitment on Saturday. Wyman and Kelly were the second and third commits in Georgia’s 2026 recruiting class, joining quarterback Jared Curtis.

With Kelly’s pledge, the Bulldogs move into the top five in the 2026 recruiting class, surpassing Oklahoma, Syracuse, Miami, LSU, and Oregon with a 75.13 class score.

Kelly accepted his offer from Georgia in January, and his communication with Williams and Robinson has been as consistent as anywhere else. Despite his commitment to USC, Notre Dame, Florida State, and Tennessee have all expressed strong interest in him this season.

Kelly is the No. 40 prospect from the Sunshine State and the 246th overall recruit.
