Djaló led Portugal, averaging 10.0 points per game and scoring a personal tournament high 17 points against Latvia in the Round of 16.

As the school year begins, Ole Miss women’s basketball enhances its roster with an infusion of youth for the 2024-25 season, with head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin signing Fatumata Djaló of Aviero, Portugal.

“We are very happy about Fatu joining our family! McPhee-McCuin described Fatu as a combo guard with extensive international experience. “She is a great defender and will be a positive addition to our roster.”

Djaló has spent a lot of time on the European circuit with Portugal’s women’s basketball team, making her debut last summer at the 2023 U18 European Championships in Hungary. Across seven games, the forward averaged 11.4 points per game, with a high of 20 versus Finland.
