The Auburn football program is working to flip a three-star wide receiver and Georgia Tech commit Sam Turner
After Big Cat Weekend on the Plains, the Auburn football program’s recruiting enthusiasm increased. Three recruits from the class of 2026 committed on Saturday, and the 2025 commitments keep coming in, making it more like Big Cat Week.
The Tigers’ coaching staff is pushing hard to cement their recruiting class of 2025, and one of the next pieces to fall into place might be 3-star wide receiver Sam Turner. Turner, of Decatur, Georgia, is listed as the #75 wide receiver in the class of 2025 and the #52 overall recruit from the Peach State.
He committed to Georgia Tech in early June but did not receive an offer from Auburn Football until the end of the month. Since then, the Tigers, led by wide receivers coach Marcus Davis, have been wooing him continuously, and he traveled to the Plains for Big Cat Weekend.
According to Auburn Rivals, the wide receiver had a tremendously successful weekend and left Auburn’s campus with a lot to think about.
“It’s not the next four years, but the next 40,” Turner stated. “So it’s a big decision.”
Turner officially visited Georgia Tech and BYU prior to receiving an offer from Auburn football, but it’s safe to say that if the wide receiver does not stick with his Yellow Jackets commitment, Auburn will be his top choice.
Turner expects to make a final decision and formally end his recruitment before his senior season this fall, so it should not be long until we know where he will play college basketball. For the time being, we have officially placed Georgia Tech wide receiver commit Sam Turner on flip watch.
