Kendall Daniels, a four-star safety out of Virginia (Va.) Maury, has committed to South Carolina.
Kendall Daniels Jr. is a unique talent with an intriguing skill set. College coaches admired his versatility as a player, but his relationship with the South Carolina coaches proved crucial.
Daniels, who plays quarterback for Norfolk (Va.) Maury, has committed to the Gamecocks and will play safety.
Daniels, who stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 190 pounds, plays multiple positions in Maury’s defense. He sometimes creeps up to the edge and blitzes, drops into coverage, and can match up with his size to cover the tight end.
“I am comfortable with the players and coaches in the program,” Mr. Daniels said. “I feel like I’m betting on myself. I feel like I have the tools, the mindset, and the appropriate coaches at the high school level that have developed me as a player, and I feel like I can bet on myself.”
