The Razorbacks received even more good news on Saturday when Lawton, Oklahoma’s 3-star safety Adam Auston confirmed his commitment to Arkansas. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound recruit chose Oklahoma State, Missouri, and Baylor over other offers.

Auston has 11 reported offers and is barely outside of 4-star designation on 247sports. He is Oklahoma’s No. 4 prospect and the 24th overall among safeties.

He can play numerous defensive backfield positions, but his college position is projected to be safety. On tape, Auston demonstrates short-to-long range burst as well as twitchy, firm hip flexibility when recovering or making a play on the ball.

As a McArthur High School student-athlete, Auston can play hybrid safety in the same way that former Razorbacks standout Rudell Crim did. With college offenses predominantly utilizing the spread tempo idea, having what seems to be a fourth linebacker can help counteract speed on underneath routes.

During his sophomore season, Auston had 92 tackles, five tackles for loss, two fumble recoveries, and two pick sixes. He visited Arkansas for the first time last weekend at the Hog Wild Hangout, which solidified his decision.
