Hugh Freeze, the head coach of Auburn football, and his staff have remained constant in their recruiting presentations.
With the advent of head coach Hugh Freeze and his staff on the Plains, Auburn football has had unprecedented recruiting success. In fact, recruiting in several categories, such as offensive linemen, had declined prior to the Freeze transfer.

It was a challenge Freeze was willing to take on, and the Tigers’ recruitment has improved dramatically in recent years, with the program continuously adapting to modern-day recruiting problems such as the transfer portal and NIL.

In 2024, Freeze and the Tigers landed a top-10 class and recruited one of the best wide receiver groups in Auburn football history. Now the attention is on the 2025 recruiting class, which has the potential to be one of the Tigers’ most highly ranked in school history.

Freeze praised his recruiting staff for their ability to form good relationships with prospects, but emphasized that Auburn speaks for itself.

“I think we’ve been consistent with our message,” head coach Hugh Freeze told Auburn Rivals. “Our message is rather simple: come and see. We believe Auburn has a unique culture and environment. I’m not suggesting it’s for everyone, or that we’re better than others, but I do believe we’re unique.”

The Tigers’ recruiting class for 2025 presently consists of 22 commits and is ranked #% overall. Several of those committed only joined in the last few weeks, during or immediately following Big Cat Weekend, and the momentum is still building. With early signing day still months away, there is still time for additional players to commit to Auburn football.

“I’m pleased right now, we’re in the top 10 in the country, I think, and that’s where you have to stay if you want to compete,” Freeze commented. “If we can finish with a few more parts that we’re seeking, I believe we’ll be able to put the ’25 class on top of the ’24, which I thought was also a good class. “We’re pretty comfortable where we are right now.”
