Josiah Sanders, a four-star guard from Colorado, has Tennessee among his top five choices. The 2025 guard published his top five over the weekend, ranking the Volunteers with Colorado, Stanford, Northwestern, and San Diego State.
The 6-4 combo guard is 115th in the 247Sports Composite rankings. He is the 15th-ranked combo guard in the class and the top-ranked player in Colorado’s 2025 class.
Sanders has already scheduled his official visit to Knoxville for the weekend of October 11. Tennessee will face Florida in football that weekend.
Tennessee signed only one athlete in the 2024 class: four-star guard Bishop Boswell. Instead, the Vols signed four transfers to compensate for the loss of production. The Vols’ 2024 transfer class includes wings Darlingstone Dubar and Igor Milicic, center Felix Okpara, and guard Chaz Lanier. This includes the replacements for Dalton Knecht, Josiah-Jordan James, Jonas Aidoo, Santiago Vescovi, and Tobe Awaka.
With a veteran club, the idea is likely to be similar next offseason. What number of prep players will they take? That’s the new balance in college basketball, and the Vols have recently leaned more toward transfer players.
Tennessee presently has one high school commitment in the 2025 class: three-star power forward DeWayne Brown.
