Will Nick Brooks choose Hook’em, Fight On, or Go Dawgs?
Add another major name to the already jam-packed August commitment list.
Several elite players are already counting the days until their decision date this month, and four-star Loganville (GA) Grayson offensive tackle Nick Brooks has joined the list.
According to On3’s Hayes Fawcett, Brooks will decide between Georgia, Texas, and USC on August 23rd.
Brooks is a former Iowa commit who recently returned to Georgia for his senior year of high school after spending some time in Iowa.
Brooks paid official visits to all of the finalists this summer, as well as to Iowa, where he had previously committed. Despite previously committing to the Hawkeyes, they are now on the outside looking in as he approaches his decision date.
Although 247Sports’ Crystal Ball feature presently favors the Bulldogs, there have been reports that the Longhorns have gained momentum in this recruiting for the mammoth offensive tackle.
Offensive tackle is still a need in this class, and Brooks fits the mold that Texas offensive line coach Kyle Flood desires. If you have to compete with programs like Georgia and USC for offensive linemen, you are obviously in the right location and on the right path.
In recent cycles, Texas has faced competition from Georgia for top offensive lineman. On August 23rd, we’ll find out if they can payback Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs’ favor from prior rounds.
