Antonio Coleman, a Saraland defensive lineman, has made news during his recruiting after flipping his promise three times. These flips involve two rival colleges.

The four-star defender initially committed to Alabama in September.

Months later, he transferred to Auburn, but it didn’t take long for his decision to change again. In March, he re-committed to the Crimson Tide after meeting with Kalen DeBoer’s new coaching staff in Tuscaloosa.

Even though a lot of people thought his third vow would hold water, he unexpectedly returned to Hugh Freeze and the Tigers.

Not long after that turn, a false report of an arrest started making the rounds on social media.

Antonio Coleman shut the whispers down on Thursday

An arrest record of a man named Anthony Coleman began making the rounds on X early this week. Though a mugshot photo was cropped out, Tide fans ran with the assumption that it was the four-star prospect who’d been in trouble with the law.

It was not.

Auburn supporters quickly found the arrest record, and its accompanying mugshot – which showed an individual much older than the 17-year-old Antonio Coleman.

The lineman confirmed that the news was, indeed, false with a reply this week.

Coleman deserves an apology from several Alabama supporters who disseminated the false information. He might reconsider flipping back to the Crimson Tide at this point if he was considering it.

Coleman is presently ranked 100th among recruits by 247 Sports. According to the website, he is ranked as the 14th best player at his position and the 10th best player in the state of Alabama.

Hugh Freeze’s retention of his committment would be a significant in-state victory for the Tigers as they attempt to carry on their Auburn rebuilding effort.
