Antonio Coleman, a Saraland defensive lineman, has made news during his recruiting after flipping his promise three times. These flips involve two rival colleges.

The four-star defender initially committed to Alabama in September.

Months later, he transferred to Auburn, but it didn’t take long for his decision to change again. In March, he re-committed to the Crimson Tide after meeting with Kalen DeBoer’s new coaching staff in Tuscaloosa.

While many expected his third promise to stay, he unexpectedly switched back to the Tigers and Hugh Freeze.

Shortly after that turn, a vicious rumor of an arrest spread on social media.

Antonio Coleman shut the whispers down on Thursday

An arrest record for a man called Anthony Coleman began circulating on X earlier this week. Though a mugshot photo was cropped, Tide supporters assumed the four-star prospect was in trouble with the law.

It wasn’t.

Auburn supporters quickly discovered the arrest record and accompanying mugshot, which depicted someone much older than Antonio Coleman, who was 17 years old.

This week, the lineman responded, confirming that the news was incorrect.

A few of Alabama supporters owe Coleman an apology for promoting misinformation. If he was thinking about switching back to the Crimson Tide, he might reconsider now.

Coleman is presently ranked as the 100th top recruit in 247 Sports’ rankings. The site ranks him as the 10th-best player in Alabama and the 14th-best player in his position.

If Hugh Freeze can keep his word, it will be a significant in-state win for the Tigers as they attempt to continue rebuilding at Auburn.
