On Friday, a prominent in-state legacy target committed to the Florida Gators, giving them their 13th Class of 2025 commitment.

On Friday, defensive back Ben Hanks Jr. (6-1, 170, Miami, FL. Booker T. Washington) committed to Florida over Louisville and Miami.

Hanks is the son of former Gators linebacker Ben Hanks, and he joins Vernell Brown III in the class, giving the coaching staff two legacy commits.

The defensive back is regarded as one of the best prospects at his position, and Hanks was a player the Gators were pursuing until defensive backs coach Will Harris arrived on campus.

Hanks was named All-Dade as a junior after recording 38 tackles and six interceptions, three of which he returned for touchdowns. Hanks also stopped three field goals for Booker T. Washington.

Hanks had 11 interceptions in his three years at Booker T. Washington as a cornerback.

Hanks is the first defensive back commit in the class, and the Gators aim to add at least one more corner and a couple more safety. Defensive backs coach Will Harris believes the Gators are in the running for several top targets at the position.
