On Sunday evening, the Florida Gators received their 14th commitment for the Class of 2025 from a top in-state talent.
On Sunday, receiver Naeshaun Montgomery (6-1, 185, Miami, FL. Central) committed to Florida over LSU and Penn State.
Montgomery valued Billy Napier’s teaching experience with receivers, as well as Billy Gonzales’ success at the position.
“It was great just knowing as a head coach he knows how to develop receivers as well as coach Gonzales, and I really like the history they have with all the receivers,” according to Montgomery.
During his formal visit to Gainesville, Montgomery had the opportunity to meet with DJ Lagway, which was a significant pull for him.
“It means a lot, mainly because without a good quarterback you really can’t do nothing as a receiver,” according to Montgomery. “Every time I met with DJ he really just said he wants me and he wants me to be his X receiver.”
The staff’s continual communication with Montgomery played an important role in gaining the receiver’s dedication.

“I really like their communication. They never stop contacting me, they check on my family, and that’s really my major concern,” Montgomery explained.
Montgomery is the Gators’ third receiver pledge in the class, after Vernell Brown III and Joshua Moore.
