Sam Turner returned to Auburn for the first time since Big Cat Weekend and was disappointed by the offensive output on the field.

Just like the fans inside Jordan-Hare Stadium, wide receiver Sam Turner didn’t quite know what to say after Auburn’s 21-14 loss to Cal. The Georgia Tech wide receiver recruit has been flirting with Auburn since late in the summer and took a visit for Big Cat Weekend.

Saturday he watched a 165-yard throwing performance, with four interceptions and a fumble in a five-turnover showing that was only 286 total yards of offense for the Tigers.

“Yeah, it’s a tough game,” Turner admitted. “But, you know, it’s new—I’m at a loss for words right now. It was difficult to perceive that. The quarterback — at least pull him out. It’s early in the season, so mistakes will happen, but they can recover. The atmosphere was incredible. That was my first time being in the stadium for this game and I loved it. We’ve just got to win the ballgame, that’s all.”
