Three-star shooting guard, has committed to Matt Painter and Purdue.

Matt Painter has received his first pledge from the Class of 2025. This afternoon, three-star guard Antione West committed to Purdue.

“I chose Purdue because they not only fit my play style but me as person,” West said us. “They need a versatile lead guard who can create for himself and others in many different ways and that is what they and I believe I can bring to their program.”

West, a 6-foot-3, 175-pound shooting guard from Toledo Whitmer High School in Ohio, chose the Boilermakers over his other choice, Nebraska.

“I liked the way they welcomed me there and the culture of their basketball program,” West said of his formal visit. “I even like their academic programs. They provide their players with more opportunities to succeed.

“The whole school has a great environment,” West concluded. “Coach Painter wants me to be me and become a player who can play free and be able to score.”

With West on board, Painter and his crew will now focus on signing Sebastian Williams-Adams or Tre Singleton to complete their 2025 recruiting class.
