Allen, a real modern-day dual threat quarterback, is closing down on a previous Bills legend’s record.

Josh Allen has the Buffalo Bills at 6-2 and leads the AFC East, and he now has the opportunity to make some team history in front of Bills Mafia this weekend against the organization’s biggest adversary, the Miami Dolphins. With a rushing score on Sunday, Allen would move into second place in franchise history. Allen (56 career touchdowns) trails O.J. Simpson (57) in second place, and both are looking up to Thurman Thomas (65).

Allen entered the 2024 NFL season with 53 career rushing touchdowns, including two with his legs in the Bills’ Week 1 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. However, a wrist injury, some offensive sluggishness, and the reduced need for Allen to run the ball have limited him to just one rushing score in his previous seven games (against the Jets in Week 6).

The accomplishment is more astounding given that Allen is a quarterback and the men he’s pursuing are Hall of Fame running backs. Last season, Allen and Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts each had 15 rushing touchdowns, setting an NFL record.
