Alabama football received offensive line help through the transfer portal on Friday. Arkel Anugwom, who formerly played for Ball State, has committed to the Crimson Tide.

Anugwom started one game for Ball State this season, at left tackle. According to Pro Football Focus, he had 101 snaps in four games.

He did not start playing football until midway through high school, after migrating to Tennessee from Nigeria. Anugwom was not ranked when he graduated high school.

The 6-foot-6, 325-pound Anugwom will most likely start as a depth piece for Alabama. Many of the Crimson Tide’s tackle talent, including Kadyn Proctor, Elijah Pritchett, and Wilson Formby, will return in 2024.

Anugwom became Alabama’s sixth scholarship athlete signed via the transfer site since the 2024 regular season ended. He is the second offensive lineman to sign with Alabama, following Kam Dewberry, who came from Texas A&M.

In addition to the two linemen, the gateway additions include Miami wide receiver Isaiah Horton, Florida defensive lineman Kelby Collins, Colorado linebacker Nikhai Hill-Green, and Utah cornerback Cam Calhoun.

Alabama players are currently able to access the transfer site. When the Crimson Tide’s 2024 season ended on Tuesday with a loss to Michigan in the ReliaQuest Bowl, the roster was given a five-day entrance window.

UA’s 2025 season begins on August 30 with a trip to Florida State.
