In 2025, Brian Schottenheimer’s first staff as Dallas Cowboys head coach will incorporate some college football elements.
Schottenheimer has already ventured into college football, hiring Kansas State’s Conor Riley to coach the offensive line. According to ESPN’s Todd Archer, he has hired Junior Adams, Oregon’s co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach, to instruct CeeDee Lamb and his teammates in Dallas.
Adams has previously coached wide receivers at Washington, Western Kentucky, Boise State, Eastern Washington, and Montana State. This will be his first NFL coaching job. He also served as the offensive coordinator for the Huskies and Hilltoppers.

Schottenheimer will be entrusted with getting the best out of Dak Prescott and the Cowboys offense after serving as offensive coordinator under Mike McCarthy the previous two seasons. He hired former Chicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus as defensive coordinator, and he has helped bring over a number of key assistants.
Dallas was 7-10 in 2024, and Schottenheimer faces a lot of pressure after getting the position, his first as head coach, after a shaky coaching search that culminated in a failed bargain to keep Mike McCarthy.
