Rodney Dunham is delighted to have the Class of 2026 take center stage in recruiting.
“I enjoy it,” the 2026 North Carolina edge defender told Irish Sports Daily.
“I’m getting closer to my senior season and actually going to the school I choose to go to, so everything’s been going pretty good.”
The 6-foot-5, 230-pounder has had numerous scholarship offers from colleges such as North Carolina, South Carolina, Duke, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, Texas, Texas A&M, and Notre Dame, among others.
The Myers Park star’s interactions with the Irish are serious.
“I text them about every day,” Dunham says.
He maintains constant communication with head coach Marcus Freeman, defensive line coach Al Washington, and defensive line assistant coach Nick Sebastian.
“It is normally just normal conversation,” he explains. “I chat to Coach Sebastian frequently. We talked about the conference championships, what was going on, and their games.
“They’re wonderful folks. They’re excellent people, and they’re probably even better coaches.
Dunham went to South Bend for last spring’s Blue-Gold Game.
“I just really loved it when I went up there,” he confesses. “I wasn’t able to get up there for a game throughout the season, but I enjoyed being up there when I could. And I really want to go back soon.
“I want to watch a game. To be honest, what I appreciated most about my time there was the school. The people were chill. It was a beautiful campus. Of course, a wonderful football program, and I enjoyed how intimate things were.”

He also hopes to visit colleges such as Tennessee, South Carolina, Duke, and Florida State this offseason.
Dunham intends to make a definitive decision before the start of his senior season, possibly in July.
