In a significant development for St. Louis Cardinals fans, the team has announced a new multi-year broadcasting agreement with Diamond Sports Group, the parent company of FanDuel Sports Network Midwest (formerly Bally Sports Midwest). This partnership ensures that Cardinals games will continue to be televised on FanDuel Sports Network Midwest and introduces, for the first time, a direct-to-consumer (DTC) streaming option for fans within the Cardinals’ extensive television territory.

The DTC streaming service will allow fans to watch Cardinals games without the need for a traditional cable subscription. While specific pricing details have not been officially disclosed, industry trends suggest that the service may be priced around $20 per month or $190 annually. This estimate is based on similar offerings by other Major League Baseball teams and regional sports networks.

Subscribers to the DTC service will have access to all Cardinals games not broadcast exclusively on national networks, as well as pregame and postgame shows and other original programming. Additionally, traditional pay TV customers will retain the ability to stream games and related content on the FanDuel Sports Network app by authenticating with their pay TV credentials.

This move aligns with a broader trend in sports broadcasting, where teams and networks are increasingly offering flexible viewing options to cater to fans who prefer streaming over traditional cable services. By providing a DTC streaming option, the Cardinals aim to enhance accessibility and meet the evolving preferences of their fan base.

The introduction of this streaming service is anticipated to be a significant benefit for fans who have been seeking more convenient and flexible ways to watch games. It also reflects the Cardinals’ commitment to adapting to changing media consumption habits and ensuring that fans have multiple avenues to engage with the team.
