One of Josh Allen’s favorite targets is unlikely to leave the Buffalo Bills anytime soon.
The Bills and playmaking wide receiver Khalil Shakir have agreed to terms on a hefty contract deal, just as the NFL Scouting Combine begins in Indianapolis.
Shakir’s new agreement, first reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, is a four-year contract worth up to $60.2 million, with $32 million guaranteed at signing.
Shakir, 25, is more than simply an emerging star; he is the Bills’ most consistent playmaker at the position, and Buffalo has rewarded him accordingly with this new contract.
The six-foot, 190-pound playmaker is coming off the best season of his career and has quickly helped quarterback Josh Allen and the Bills forget about Stefon Diggs, whom Buffalo dealt to the Houston Texans last summer.
Shakir concluded the 2024 season with a career-high 76 receptions on 100 targets for 821 yards and four touchdowns.
Under the terms of his new contract, Shakir is now the 20th-highest-paid wide receiver in the league, and his role might grow in 2025 and beyond as he continues to develop his relationship with Allen.
Shakir has caught 125 receptions for 1,593 yards and seven touchdowns in his first three seasons with the Bills after being selected in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft from Boise State.
