The Buffalo Bills have signed Khalil Shakir, one of Josh Allen’s top weapons, to a four-year deal worth up to $60.2 million, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Shakir was a bright spot for the Bills’ offense under Joe Brady, racking up 821 yards and four touchdowns on 76 receptions to become Allen’s go-to receiver. While many believe the Bills still need a true No. 1 receiver for Allen to go over the playoff hump, having Shakir’s future handled is a significant benefit for Buffalo moving ahead.

And general manager Brandon Beane is pleased to look after Khalil. “We’re thrilled,” Beane said on One Bills Live. “We haven’t put pen to paper yet, but we’re excited to reach a deal. Khalil, what a pro. He did everything precisely perfectly, and he’s one of those people that doesn’t say much, allowing his play to speak for itself. Khalil is a highly valued member of our locker room, and that is what you want to do: reward individuals like him. I think you’d have a hard time finding someone to say a bad word about Khalil Shakir and what he’s provided to our squad the last three years and what we’ll rely on him to deliver for years for years to come.”

With Shakir already signed for the next four seasons, the Bills can focus on free agency and the draft to find another weapon for Allen. Amari Cooper and Mack Hollins are free agents, and it’s unclear whether a reunion is in the works, leaving Keon Coleman and Curtis Samuel as the only true receivers, with tight ends Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox serving as the other pass catchers.

It’ll be interesting to see how the Bills go, but with Shakir remaining put, Buffalo has locked up its No. 1 receiver from last season. Now they can build on what they accomplished in 2024, with Shakir certain to play a significant role in the future.
