The actress and Buffalo Bills star are well-known in the public, making privacy a constant concern for the already reserved pair. However, in her most recent interview, Steinfeld discusses how she combats this in their relationship.
The Pitch Perfect actor graced the cover of Vogue Philippines, where she revealed secrets about her life that fans are eager to learn. One story that made headlines last year was Allen’s romantic proposal to the actress after a year of dating.
Not only was she able to share details about her memorable moments on social media, but she also provided readers with an exclusive Q&A with Allen via her newsletter Beau Society.
“That was also one of the main goals, to create a space where I felt comfortable and safe doing that,” Steinfeld told Vogue Philippines.
The singer and actress added that one of her key goals for the newsletter is to be able to select when and how she delivers important life updates with her audience.
“Because, while I appreciate my private and our privacy, certain things are simply too amazing not to share. And I’m grateful to be able to do it on my own terms,” Steinfeld said.
She has previously expressed a desire to keep her personal life private.
“When you realize that so much is already out there in every other aspect of your life, you really learn to cherish the little that isn’t,” she told the magazine last month. “It just makes things extra special.”

On Instagram, the couple announced that they got engaged a few days after their real proposal date on November 22. During the Bills’ bye week, the sportsman is photographed down on one knee under a flower-covered arch overlooking the beach in Malibu. In her newsletter, Beau Society, Steinfeld interviewed Allen about the big day.
“The funniest part was when we got up and were getting ready for brunch, and you hopped on the bed and shouted, ‘Can we be married already?!? “What are you waiting for?!” I responded, “Just give me a little more time.” “You had no idea I was planning to propose to you…”
The Bills quarterback stated that he was anxious about proposing and having his surprise destroyed.
“I think I was most nervous about you finding out about the proposal,” Allen told me. “It was difficult to hide secrets from you and have others in your life keep them from you. Then, several times throughout the day, a song would play, and I would cry as I imagined how amazing our day would be.”
The couple made their red carpet debut at the NFL Honors last month, where fans finally saw Steinfeld’s engagement ring. Allen received MVP honors and expressed gratitude to his fiancée for her support during the season.
“You’ve been my rock; you are my best friend,” Allen remarked during his winning speech. “I would not be standing on this stage if it weren’t for you.”
