Josh Allen signed a historic new contract with the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, making him the highest-paid quarterback in the NFL today. The Bills and Allen agreed to a $330 million contract over six years. Even better, it includes $250 million in guaranteed money, the “largest guarantee ever given to an NFL player,” according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. When news of Allen’s contract broke, the NFL reacted and applauded the Bills star’s signing.

On social media, the league used a five-word message to highlight Allen’s status as the highest-paid signal-caller. “The NFL’s newest highest-paid quarterback,” the league announced, beside a portrait of Allen.

For what it’s worth, the NFL’s celebration did not stop there. In another post, the NFL emphasized how significant Josh Allen’s contract with the Bills was, saying, “@JoshAllenQB just broke the bank.” Sure enough, the Bills star deserves the big payout after having a tremendous year. While they did not win the Super Bowl, Allen won the regular season MVP award to top out the 2024 season.

During the 2024 season, Allen accumulated 3,731 passing yards and 28 touchdowns while throwing only six interceptions. He guided the Bills to a 13-4 record, securing the AFC East division title for the sixth consecutive season.
