The Seahawks strengthened their secondary on Wednesday by acquiring former Saints cornerback.
The 26 year-old, entered the league as the Green Bay Packers’ fifth-round choice. He spent his first two seasons with the Packers, appearing in 20 games, mostly on special teams, before joining the 49ers in 2023, where he appeared in five games before joining the Saints’ practice squad later that season and playing in three games.
“Just having ties here in Seattle, from coaching staff to ex-teammates, it just made sense, and it’s a fantastic strategy, both on special teams and defense. “It just seemed like the best fit for me,” Jean-Charles explained after signing.
Jean-Charles played in nine games for the Saints, starting two, and recording his first career interception, two passes defensed, and 14 tackles.
When asked about his role on special teams, Jean-Charles remarked, “That’s an important aspect of my game. I take special teams very seriously. Throughout the years, I’ve attempted to make that a part of my game, and I’ve also tried to improve my defensive abilities.”
Jean-Charles stated defensively that he is available to assist wherever required.
“I can play everywhere,” he remarked. “I recorded it on film; I can play indoors or outdoors. I’m willing to play wherever my coaches need me to. I believe I am the type of player that is always doing his job and moving around the ball. So, whether it’s forcing or causing turnovers, it’s just something I enjoy doing: being around the ball and making plays on the football.”
Jean-Charles is also excited to play in Seahawks coach Mike MacDonald’s defense.

“It lets you play with your hair on fire,” he told me. “I enjoy the fact that defensive backs have the opportunity to make numerous plays on the ball. It’s a defense where men can let free, play with each other, and simply have fun out there.”
