Kristian Campbell was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the fourth round of the 2023 Major League Baseball draft. He advanced from High-A to Triple-A in his only minor league season, hitting.330 and displaying some bat power with 20 home runs.

With 24 steals, he demonstrated his speed on the basepaths as well. Because of his performance, Campbell was named the MiLB Breakout Player of the Year and the MLB Pipeline Hitting Prospect of the Year. He started the season as the Red Sox’s starting second baseman after performing admirably in his debut season as a professional baseball player.

Campbell has demonstrated that he is a major league player through the Red Sox’s first eleven games. Campbell has a.364 batting average with 12 hits and two home runs in 33 at-bats.

After All-Star shortstop Trevor Story, Campbell has been ranked sixth in the team’s lineup thus far this season. However, manager Alex Cora can try starting Campbell in the second position if he wants the team’s top player to be more versatile.

The lineup of the team’s best six batters would look like this, with Kristian’s right-handed bat in the second spot:

  1. Jarren Duran (Left)
  2. Kristian Campbell (Right)
  3. Rafael Devers (Left)
  4. Alex Bregman (Right)
  5. Tristan Casas (Left)
  6. Trevor Story (Right)

With this batting order starting six, Cora would have the opportunity of switching between left- and right-handed hitters. Furthermore, this lineup can allow the sluggers in the middle of the team’s order to have more runners on base.

Cora says he'll be back with Red Sox in 2024, but in what role?

Putting the team’s greatest player so far this season at the top of his batting order would be a terrific way to start getting the offense back on track, even though the Red Sox have won five of their previous six games. Cora should try to experiment with his lineup.
