Under head coach Jon Scheyer’s direction, the Duke Blue Devils made yet another advancement.
With a 35-4 record at the end of the season, Duke defeated Alabama, Arizona, Baylor, and Mount Saint Mary’s in the NCAA Tournament.
In the end, they lost to Houston in the Final Four. Scheyer and his staff were hoping to rebuild Duke’s roster and recover from the loss, but they suffered a setback in recruiting the class of 2025.
Nate Ament, a five-star talent, has committed to Tennessee, beating out Duke, Arkansas, Louisville, and Kentucky, according to Joe Tipton.
During the majority of the recruiting cycle, Duke and Tennessee were generally considered Ament’s top two suitors. On January 31, Ament paid Duke an official visit, according to 247Sports.
Powerhouse programs across the nation, like as Arkansas, Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, and UConn, actively recruited Ament.
They have a strong bunch of players entering the program next season, even if Scheyer and his staff undoubtedly lost out on one of the top talents in the 2025 class, who is regarded as the fourth overall player in the country.
Despite just having three players committed to the ACC program, Duke has the 15th-best recruiting class in the nation.
Four-star guard Cayden Boozer pledged to the Blue Devils, while two five-star players, Cameron Boozer and Nikolas Khamenia, also committed.
