After missing out on a national title by a slim margin, the Auburn Tigers have been making some of the greatest splashes in the transfer market over the past several weeks by bringing in talent to rebuild.

It will be painful to lose Johni Broome, Tahaad Pettiford, and Chad Baker-Mazara since they are undoubtedly difficult talents to replace. Winger Jahki Howard, who did not receive much playing time as a freshman on a squad with a lot of experience, is another player departing the Tigers for the transfer portal. He has declared his commitment to the Utah Utes as he begins his second campaign. Even though he didn’t get much playing time at Auburn, the 6-foot-6 rookie was a terrific player when he did play, and his greatest performances were early in the season before conference play.

He will have plenty of room to grow and develop when he joins the Utes for the 2025 campaign. Though they presently have a lot coming in, the Tigers will undoubtedly miss his potential. According to On3, they currently have the 17th-best recruiting class in the nation, with three four-star freshmen expected to join. In addition, they have added three more four-star transfers this portal window: Kevin Overton of Texas Tech, KeShawn Murphy of Mississippi State, and Keyshawn Hall of UCF.

Bruce Pearl has a definite vision for this squad, even though in today’s collegiate basketball environment, you never want to lose guys. He is bringing in seasoned players who shed a bright light on an Auburn team eager to return to the Final Four, although with a different outcome this time.
