Porter Moser, the head men’s basketball coach at the University of Oklahoma, revealed on Tuesday that Xzayvier Brown from Saint Joseph’s, Nijel Pack from Miami, Florida, and Tae Davis from Notre Dame have all signed.

The 6-9, 215-pound forward Davis spent his rookie year at Seton Hall and the previous two seasons with the Fighting Irish. The 6-0, 185-pound guard Pack played his final three seasons with the Hurricanes after spending his first two seasons at Kansas State. Brown, who is 6-2 and weighs 175 pounds, attended Saint Joseph’s for both of his seasons.

Both Davis and Pack, who are from Indianapolis, are eligible for one more season. Brown, a Philadelphia native, is still eligible for two more years.

Moser guided the Sooners to 20 victories and the NCAA Tournament this past season. “Tae, Nijel, and Xzayvier are three of the premier players in this portal cycle and we’re absolutely thrilled they chose to join the OU family,” Moser said. “They are battle-tested and will be excellent leaders from the first day they set foot on campus, having combined for 291 games played and 230 starts against elite opposition. With more than 3,500 career points between them, they are intelligent, coachable players with a clear scoring punch. We are eager for them to arrive and begin working with both our newbies and returning athletes.”

FORWARD TAE DAVIS

In his 97 games played, Davis has started 66 of them, including 64 of 65 during his two years at Notre Dame. This past season, he started all 33 of the Irish’s games, was second on the team in both scoring (15.1 points per game) and rebounds (5.3 rebounds per game), and added 1.8 assists in 30.8 minutes per game. He made 30.2% of his 3-point tries (36.0% over the last 13 games), shot 72.4% from the free throw line, and shot 47.6% from the field to rank sixth in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Davis averaged 9.2 points (ranked third on the team) and 5.1 rebounds (ranked second) in 26.0 minutes per game as a sophomore, starting 31 of his 32 games. He made a team-high 72.3% of his free throws (81 for 112) and 48.4% of his field goals. He averaged 13.3 points (on 52.5% shooting) and 5.1 rebounds during the last seven games, scoring in double figures each time.

During his rookie year at Seton Hall, Davis participated in 32 of 33 games and averaged 13.4 minutes per game with 2.8 points and 2.8 rebounds.

With 1,178 points and 492 rebounds at the end of his high school career, Davis was rated 139th in the 2022 recruiting class by 247Sports. While playing for his father, Dre Davis Sr., at Warren Central High School, he averaged 22.0 points and 10.0 rebounds as a senior.

GUARD NIJEL PACK

Pack has started 121 of his 127 career games and has a 14.3-point career scoring average. He was selected to the first team of the 2022 All-Big 12 at Kansas State and won the 2023 NCAA Tournament Midwest Region Most Outstanding Player award after leading Miami to the Final Four. His 1,745 points would place him ninth in the history of the Oklahoma program.

Due to an injury, he was only able to play in the first nine games of the previous season. The first-team preseason All-ACC player scored in double figures seven times and at least 20 points three times in those nine games (20 against Oklahoma State, 21 against Fairleigh Dickinson, and 22 against Arkansas). He averaged 13.9 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 4.3 assists. In the first two games of the season, he averaged 19.0 points (on 15-for-24 shooting), 5.5 assists, and only one turnover, earning him the title of ACC Player of the Week on November 11.

During 2023–24, Pack averaged 13.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.0 steal in 32.5 minutes per game while playing and starting in 25 of the Hurricanes’ 32 games. 18 times, including a 28-point performance against Kansas State, he scored in double figures.

He averaged 13.6 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.0 steals in 31.6 minutes per game during his first campaign at Miami. Along with team highs of 40.4% from 3-point range (86 for 213) and 88.2% from the foul line, he shot 44.1% from the field. He reached double digits in points 22 times and led the Hurricanes in scoring nine times.

During his last season at Kansas State, Pack was selected as a USBWA All-District VI player, a NABC All-District 8 First Team player, a Big 12 Most Improved Player, and a member of the league’s coaches and media’s first team All-Big 12. The two-time Big 12 Player of the Week averaged 17.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.3 steals in 33.0 minutes per game while starting 28 of his 29 games.He led the Wildcats in scoring, field goals (175), field goal percentage (.455), 3-point field goal percentage (.436; led Big 12 and ranked fifth nationally), free throw percentage (.845), and 3-pointers (95 to rank second in the Big 12, 29th nationally, and third in the program’s single-season history). With 3.3 3-pointers per game, he also led the Big 12 and was rated 14th in the nation.

Pack scored at least 20 points ten times and at least 30 points in three games in 2021–22 as a sophomore. He recorded a career-high 35 points against Kansas, ranked seventh, when he made 12 of 18 shots and went 8 for 12 from beyond the arc. He scored 31 points against No. 10 Baylor and 32 points against Iowa State. As a sophomore, he scored in double digits in all 18 of his Big 12 games and all 22 of his previous games.

Pack started all 24 of his games during his first year in 2020–21 (missed five because of injury). He became only the third freshman in Wildcats history to lead the team in scoring with an average of 12.7 points per game. He contributed 3.7 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.2 steals per game in addition to shooting 40.5% from 3-point range (60 made), which ranks second in school freshman history. Pack scored at least 20 points three times, including a season-high 26 against Texas A&M when he went 8 for 14 from long range to set a freshman program record for treys in a game. He also led K-State in scoring in 11 games.

He only spent two seasons at Kansas State, but at the time of his transfer to Miami, he had 155 3-pointers, ranking 10th on the school’s career 3-pointers list. He broke the previous record of 25 consecutive games held by former OU assistant coach Steve Henson, which had stood for more than 30 years, and set a KSU record by making at least one 3-pointer in 34 straight games. Pack made 3-pointers in the final five games of his freshman season and all 29 of his games as a sophomore.

Pack, who went to Lawrence Central High School, was ranked by ESPN as the No. 84 player in the country and the No. 2 player in Indiana. He scored 820 of his 1,085 career points during his junior and senior seasons, helping the Bears to a 44-7 record.

GUARD XZAYVIER BROWN

Brown joins Norman after finishing fourth in the league with 17.6 points per game as a sophomore this past season, earning him a spot on the first team of the Atlantic 10 and a spot on the second team of the NABC Mid-Atlantic District. He led the Atlantic 10 with double digits in all 32 of his games (30 starts), and he scored at least 20 points in 14 of them, including a season-high 27 points versus Fordham. Along with team highs of 4.3 assists and 1.5 steals, Brown also averaged 5.2 rebounds, enough for second place on the team. He has the most assists of any A-10 player this season with 13 versus Villanova.

After averaging 22.3 points and 6.7 rebounds over three games, Brown was selected to the 2025 Atlantic 10 All-Championship Team. During the season, he shot 42.0% from the field,.350 from 3-point range (63 makes), and 89.7% from the free throw line. In addition to setting a school single-season record in free throw percentage, he was second in the Atlantic 10 in conversions (148).

Only five players in the country averaged at least 17.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.5 steals per game during the previous campaign.

As a freshman in 2023-24, Brown was awarded Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year and Big 5 Rookie of the Year after he averaged 12.7 points (14.9 in conference play), 4.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.8 steals per outing. A starter in 13 of his 35 games, he shot 46.0% from the field, 40.4% from 3-point range (69 makes) and 79.6% from the foul line (74 makes). In back-to-back games in February, he scored at least 20 points in six of them, including 27 at Saint Louis and 29 against Loyola Chicago.

Brown scored 443 points as a freshman and 563 points as a sophomore, totaling 1,006 points in his career.

Brown assisted Roman Catholic High School in winning a Philadelphia Catholic League championship as a senior and a Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association 6A state championship as a junior. As a senior in high school, he was ranked as the fourth-best player in the state and was a four-star prospect by ESPN.
