The Duke basketball recruiters are on a double-digit list of recent visitors to Melissa High School (Texas) to examine junior shooting guard Austin Goosby, according to a report published Thursday by Dushawn London, a recruiting analyst for 247Sports.

BYU, Michigan, SMU, UCLA, Kentucky, Louisville, Kansas, Texas, Texas A&M, Miami, Maryland, and Baylor are the other schools on that list, according to London.

At the moment, Goosby is rated as a four-star prospect. The 6-foot-5, 190-pound shooter, who can create open looks for himself with confident handles and fluid movements on the perimeter, is only 14 spots behind the cycle’s lowest-ranked five-star at No. 37 overall on the 247Sports 2026 Composite.

According to his booming recruitment, a commitment doesn’t seem likely to happen very soon.

When Austin Goosby informed London in late November, “I will probably make my decision sometime before my senior year,” “From now until I make that decision, I’ll just look at each school and who continues to reach out and make a family bond.”

In contrast, there are very few targets on the Duke basketball offer sheet for 2026. Sebastian Wilkins, a four-star power forward from Brewster Academy in New Hampshire, is the most recent member of that group and is now a strong contender to be reclassified to 2025.
