Chad Baker-Mazara, a star guard for the Auburn Tigers, made waves on Monday morning when he announced where he will play basketball next season.

Baker-Mazara was one of the most productive players on the Auburn squad, averaging 12.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game in his senior year. The guard declared he will be logging into the transfer site on April 17 following an 18-point effort against Florida in the Final Four.

Baker-Mazara said on social media that he has decided to join the USC Trojans for the next season and will be traveling to the Big 10. The Trojans appear to be a strong squad this season given that they have an experienced leader.

According to On3, the USC squad, which boasts a recruiting class in the top 10, will benefit greatly from the arrival of Baker-Mazara. The Trojans have one four-star recruit in Jerry Easter and one five-star in Alijah Arenas, who they hope can fully recover from a tragic automobile accident. Seven of the eight transfers in this transfer portal group are four-star transfers, and these two incoming freshmen will join them. The Trojans completely rebuilt and have performed admirably so far.

Chad Baker-Mazara officially announces he will return to Auburn

Auburn has a strong class coming in and will now search elsewhere for their impact player. Three four-star guards, including Kevin Overton, a transfer from Texas Tech who is seeking a more significant role going into his junior year, can fill his position. I wish Baker-Mazara success as he embarks on his new collegiate basketball quest, which will take him to southern California.
