Miguel Almiron might be pushed out of Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United starting lineup.
Newcastle United are allegedly considering a costly summer transfer for Wolves winger Pedro Neto. Liverpool and Arsenal are also said to be interested in the speedy Portuguese, who is anticipated to leapfrog Miguel Almiron in the pecking order if he joins St James’ Park.
Almiron, a former club record signing for the Magpies, is entering the final two years of his contract. Despite his hard work, the Paraguayan has only three goals and one assist in 27 Premier League games on the right wing this season.
Newcastle, who recently reached 30, are apparently looking for a replacement this summer. According to The Daily Mail, senior scouts have discussed Neto’s name after being impressed by his recent Wolves displays.
The 23-year-old is one of the fastest players in English football, and he has the productivity to back it up, with nine assists in the top division this season.
Only Pascal Gross, Kieran Trippier, and Ollie Watkins can improve that total, with Neto scoring more than Bukayo Saka and Phil Foden. According to reports, Wolves are expected to seek £60 million for the wide man.
Arsenal and Liverpool have also expressed an interest in Neto, but the former Braga youth star’s injury history appears to have hampered his major move.
